What’s up?

While Knuckledust is recording their brand new album “bluffs, lies and alibis”, and Born from Pain is preparing the last bits and pieces for the cd release from their new album “the new future”, we want to give you a short update on a few other things.

GSR Bands on the road later in 2012

We’re working on a Kickback tour during the second half of October 2012. First dates announced in a few days.

Furthermore several weekends for Knuckledust are being booked as we speak for June, August, September and more; stay tuned for those.

And last but not least, Backfire!; since their weekend in March in Antwerp, Leipzig and Hengelo was an awesome success, new dates will be launched soon. In the meanwhile check Backfire! out @ the following events:

DUTCH HARDCORE/PUNK VETERANS TECH 9 JOIN GSR MUSIC.

Yes. It’s a fact; Tech 9 just signed a deal for their brand new record with GSR Music. “Bite the Bullet”, featuring 14 brand new tracks and one cover, will be released late September 2012. The Bio:

In today’s hardcore/punkrock scene, which seems to be an endless list of bands coming and going, it’s good to know there are still bands out there who are in it for the long run. Eindhoven-Holland based outfit Tech-9 are one of the scene’s true survivors, starting out in the 80’s, surviving the 90’s, clawing their way into the 2000’s, and never looking back since.
After seemingly forever trying to find their way in the underground music scene, doing shows and releasing demo’s, they had to wait until 1996 to catch their first break. By that time the European hardcore/punkrock scene had started to make some serious noise, and record labels were willing to take a chance on local bands. With their special blend of hardcore and oldschool punkrock, Tech-9 got noticed
too, which resulted in their 1996 debut album ‘Scars on the Inside’. This album opened a lot of doors, and many new shows followed. Their second album ‘Winner takes all’ which was released in 1998, took them to the next level. By that time they had become a household name, along with bands such as Backfire, Discipline, Right Direction, to name a few. This also meant that besides playing gigs in small venues, they were also invited to bigger festivals such as Dynamo Open Air (NL) and Dour (Be), showcasing their unique sound to an even broader audience.
 Since then Tech-9 released three more albums, ‘Last Line of Defense’ (2000), ‘Devil in the Backseat’ (2003), and ‘Nine Lives’(2007), as well as participating on several compilation- and tribute albums.
 Deeply rooted in working class punkrock, blood has proved thicker than water as they have gone further  back to their punkrock roots with every step.
 That was then, this is now!
Even though most of the bands from the early years have long since called it a day, Tech-9 seems to have found some sort of eternal youth, as they are still busting their asses on stage in the same line-up they started out with. Now as if that wasn’t enough, they’ve even been working on a brand spanking new album, which is to be released later this year! Having found a new partner in GSR Music, the guys in Tech-9 are ready to add yet another chapter to their already impressive resume. The new album, which will be titled ‘Bite the Bullet’, will feature 14 new songs plus one very surprising cover song. Those who know the band already, will know what to expect, straight forward, in-your-face punkrock, with a slight melodic edge. Also, add a few choice sing-alongs to really get the party going.
Along with their friends in GSR, Tech-9 will be kicking ass and taking names, showing everyone how it’s done. So check out the new Tech-9 album, catch them on the road, and make sure to join the party that never ends. Oi!

Strength Approach - With Or Without You > OUT NOW

  If you like no nonsense, no frills hardcore that is bursting with raw power, intensity and integrity and has a musical impact that is the equivalent to a Doc Martin boot kicking you in the teeth, then Strength Approach’s new album “With Or Without You” should probably be in your record collection within a week of its release. “With Or Without You” brings forth all of the elements of the Strength Approach trademark sound that you love, but with a new found maturity that can only come from hard time spent on the road touring anywhere and everywhere and with everyone, and that is something Strength Approach have not stopped doing since their last full length album came out. All the usual elements that make up the Strength Approach sound are there like the razor sharp guitars full of rich melody fused with the abrasive jagged riffing and bombastic pounding drums all topped off with infectious and staccato vocals that explode from the speakers with energy and honesty. From opener “Eye For An Eye” to closer “Dance Hard Or Die”, Strength Approach’s “With Or Without You” features 11 tracks of inspirational Hardcore that is not for the faint hearted or for those that don’t like some good old fashioned slam dancing and pile ons in the pit. Make no mistake, Strength Approach are letting everyone know their intentions with this latest release and if you’re not already a follower, you soon will be!

Devil In Me signs with GSR Music.

Although we’re in the middle of the busiest period ever in the GSR Music history with releases from the GSR veterans Kickback, Backfire! and Knuckledust, as well as GSR’s rising stars All For Nothing and Strength Approach, we most definitely couldn’t let go the opportunity to sign Portugal’s leading Hardcore band Devil in Me.
Devil In Me’s well balanced mix of Hardcore and Punkrock, their catchy sound, which reminds at bands like H2O, Sick of it All and Misfits matches perfectly in the GSR Music roster. Besides that, Devil in Me’s passionate, energetic and convincing live performance is a real smack in the face, wakin’ up everybody who thought hardcore was about to die! Last year they toured Europe with Madball and Born from Pain, as well as with Comeback Kid, and finished 2011 with another European tour with Wisdom in Chains. Hungry as they are, they’ll hit the stages again in March 2012 on the Rebellion tour, together with Roma’s label mates Strength Approach, alongside the NYHC legends Madball and H2O and awesome bands like First Blood and Deez Nuts.

The End is the title of a new beginning for Devil In Me and GSR Music; a 13 track album which will be out February 24th on GSR Music.

Bio:
When Devil in Me started as a studio project in the summer of 2004, they could never imagine that it would become one of the most promising forces in the underground music nowadays, in Europe. In five years, this four piece from Portugal, released two successful albums, a DVD, made several European tours and a Canadian tour, and shared stage with most of the bands in the world’s underground scene.
They are now preparing to release their third original work, worldwide through GSR. This time, a disc of conceptual nature. “The End” brings us visions of itself. Not only in the content in the lyrics, but also what the songs breath. It’s an intense, continuous display of power that is perfectly transported to the stage, with their sour/sweet approach to performance and writing.
Produced by Andrew Neufeld (Comeback Kid), it’s filled with sweeping melodies mixed with fast and aggressive punk-hardcore riffs, which promises to capture even the most septic.
These are the contents of another pure DIM album, straight from the heart.
